Část A

Funkční kritéria

2. Procesy výroby obalu: design obalu je slučitelný s procesy výroby a plnění obalu. Použitím určitých procesů výroby obalů lze stanovit prvky designu obalu, jako je tvar nádoby, tolerance tloušťky, velikost, proveditelnost výroby za pomoci nástrojů či specifikace minimalizující odpad při výrobě. Procesy prováděné výrobcem daných výrobků mohou rovněž vyžadovat, aby měl design obalu určité prvky, jako je odolnost vůči nárazu a zátěži, mechanická pevnost, rychlost a účinnost balicí linky, stabilita při manipulaci, odolnost vůči teplu, účinné zavírání, minimální nevyužitý prostor nebo hygiena.

3. Logistika: design obalu zajišťuje vhodnou a bezpečnou distribuci, přepravu a skladování baleného výrobku a vhodnou a bezpečnou manipulaci s ním. Požadavky mohou zahrnovat koordinaci rozměrů pro optimální využití prostoru, kompatibilitu se systémy paletizace a depaletizace či manipulace a skladování a neporušenost obalového systému během přepravy a manipulace.

Požadavky mohou zahrnovat uvedení informací o výrobku, pokynů ohledně skladování, využití a použití, čárových kódů a data minimální trvanlivosti.

6. Hygiena a bezpečnost: design obalu zajišťuje bezpečnost uživatele a spotřebitele, jakož i bezpečnost a hygienu výrobku po celou dobu od distribuce přes konečné použití až po odstranění baleného výrobku. Mezi požadavky mohou patřit design zajišťující bezpečnou manipulaci, bezpečnost pro děti, odolnost vůči nedovolené manipulaci, odolnost vůči krádeži, odolnost vůči padělání, bezpečnostní varování, jasná identifikace obsahu, bezpečné otevírání nebo tlakový uzávěr.

7. Právní požadavky: design obalu zajišťuje, aby byly obal i balený výrobek v souladu s příslušnými právními předpisy.

8. Obsah recyklovaného materiálu, recyklovatelnost a opětovné použití: design obalu zajišťuje opětovnou použitelnost, recyklovatelnost a použití recyklovaného materiálu v souladu s tímto nařízením. Je-li obal určen k opětovnému použití, splňuje požadavky stanovené v čl. 11 odst. 1.

Metodika posuzování a stanovení minimálního objemu a minimální hmotnosti obalu

a)

popis výsledku posouzení včetně podrobných údajů o výpočtu minimální nezbytné hmotnosti a minimálního nezbytného objemu obalu; zohlední a zdokumentují se možné rozdíly mezi výrobními šaržemi téhož obalu;

b)

u každého z funkčních kritérií uvedených v části A se uvede popis s cílem objasnit požadavek na design, který znemožňuje další snížení hmotnosti nebo objemu obalu, aniž by byla ohrožena jeho funkčnost, například pokud jde o zajištění bezpečnosti a hygieny, ve vztahu k balenému výrobku, obalu samotnému a uživateli; popíše se metoda, kterou byly tyto požadavky na design určeny, a uvedou se důvody, proč již není možné hmotnost nebo objem obalu dále snížit; ověří se všechny možnosti, jak by hmotnost nebo objem u daného obalového materiálu mohly být sníženy, jako je omezení veškerých nadbytečných vrstev, které neplní obalovou funkci; nahrazení jednoho obalového materiálu za jiný se nepovažuje za dostatečné;

c)

1. Product protection: packaging design shall ensure protection of the product, from the point of …

1.

Product protection: packaging design shall ensure protection of the product, from the point of packaging or filling until its end use, with a view to preventing significant product damage, loss, deterioration or waste. Requirements may consist of protection against mechanical or chemical damage, vibration, compression, humidity, moisture loss, oxidation, light, oxygen, microbiological infection, pest, deterioration of organoleptic properties, etc. and include references to specific Union law setting out requirements on product quality.
2. Packaging manufacturing processes: the packaging design shall be compatible with the packaging …

2.

Packaging manufacturing processes: the packaging design shall be compatible with the packaging manufacturing and filling processes. The packaging manufacturing processes may determine packaging design elements, such as the shape of a container, thickness tolerances, size, feasibility of tooling, or specifications minimising waste in manufacturing. The processes operated by manufacturer of products may also require certain design elements of packaging, such as impact and stress resistance, mechanical strength, packing line speed and efficiency, stability in conveying, heat resistance, effective closing, minimum headspace, or hygiene.
3. Logistics: the packaging design shall ensure adequate and safe distribution, transport, handling …

3.

Logistics: the packaging design shall ensure adequate and safe distribution, transport, handling and warehousing of the packaged product. Requirements may consist of dimensional coordination for optimum space utilisation, compatibility with palletising and de-palletising systems, handling and warehousing system, and packaging system integrity during transport and handling.
