In order to achieve a consistent and adequate level of security, different areas of responsibility
within an organisation must cooperate with each other. However, a lack of strategic guidance
and unclear objectives sometimes lead to different interpretations of the importance of
information security. This can mean the required cooperation fails to take place because the
job of “information security” is not prioritised or seen as a necessity. Security safeguards may
not be implemented as a result.
