Article 37 4a.

Where the Commission finds during the initial check carried out pursuant to paragraph 4 of this Article a difference between the annual average of net removals in the years specified in Article 4(2) of Regulation (EU) 2018/841 reported by any Member State in the 2020 and 2023 or subsequent submission of the greenhouse gas inventory that is greater than 500 kt CO2 equivalent, the Commission shall verify:

(a) 

the transparency, accuracy, consistency, comparability and completeness of information submitted; and

(b) 

that LULUCF reporting is carried out in a manner which is consistent with UNFCCC guidance documentation or Union rules.

The Commission shall make the results of that verification publicly available.
