‘Financial transactions’ are measured in terms of the difference between stock positions at end-period reporting dates, from which the effects of changes resulting from the influence of ‘revaluation adjustments’ (as a consequence of price and exchange rate changes) and ‘reclassifications and other adjustments’ are removed. The ECB requires statistical information for the purpose of compiling data on financial transactions in the form of adjustments that involve ‘reclassifications and other adjustments’ as well as ‘price and exchange rate revaluations’.
