APP.4.3.A13 Restrictive Utilisation of Database Links (S)

It SHOULD be ensured that only persons accountable are authorised to create database links (DB links). If such links are created, private DB links MUST be preferred to public DB links. All DB links created by the persons accountable SHOULD be documented and reviewed at regular intervals. Additionally, DB links SHOULD be taken into account when the database system is backed up (see APP.4.3.A9 Backing Up a Database System).
