Many cloud service providers offer their services in an international environment. They are thus often subject to other national legislation. Cloud customers, meanwhile, frequently only see the advantages associated with cloud computing (e.g. cost advantages) and misjudge the legal framework conditions with regard to aspects such as data protection, information obligations, insolvency law, liability, or information access for third parties. This could result in violations of applicable policies and guidelines and also compromise the security of outsourced information.
