Competent authorities should ensure that the AML/CFT supervisory plan is independent from the prudential supervisory plan; although, at times, there might be overlaps in the subjects of assessment inspected by competent authorities and prudential supervisors, and joint or supplementary supervisory tools may be applied. However, competent authorities are responsible for ensuring that the AML/CFT supervisory objectives are fully met as a result of these actions.
