While the supervisory follow-up process is separate from the sanctioning process, the two processes are not mutually exclusive and should supplement each other. Therefore, irrespective of the sanctions to be imposed on a subject of assessment, competent authorities should closely follow-up to ensure that breaches and shortcomings are sufficiently remediated.
