The following typologies and labels shall be established at NUTS level 3:

(a)

urban-rural typology:

‘Predominantly urban regions’,

‘Intermediate regions’,

—

‘Predominantly rural regions’;

(b)

metropolitan typology:

‘Metropolitan regions’,

—

‘Non-metropolitan regions’;

(c)

coastal typology:

—

‘Coastal regions’,

—

‘Non-coastal regions’.
