PSPs should ensure that the transfer of funds is accompanied by the payment account number. Where the transfer of funds is made using a payment card, the number of that card (the Pri-mary Account Number (PAN)) can take the place of the payment account number, on condition that that number allows the funds transfer to be traced back to the payer or the payee. 4.4.2.
