Article 12 Entry into force

Article 12 1.	This Directive shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities.
Article 12 2.	Article 5(4) shall apply: — as from 1 July 2002 for vehicles put on the market as from this date, — as from 1 January 2007 for vehicles put on the market before the date referred to in the first indent.
Article 12 3.	Member States may apply Article 5(4) in advance of the dates set out in paragraph 2.
