Competent authorities should also ensure, among other things, that the exclusions to the notion of eligible deposit and the repayment obligation by the deposit guarantee scheme as set out in Article 5(1) of Directive 2014/49/EU on deposit guarantee schemes (‘DGSD’) do not affect the notion of ‘deposits’ for the purposes of the granting of the authorisation as a credit institution.
