These guidelines apply in relation to Article 74 of Directive 2013/36/EU,⁸ which requires institutions to have robust governance arrangements, including a clear organisational structure with well-defined, transparent and consistent lines of responsibility, effective processes to identify, manage, monitor and report the risks they are or might be exposed to and adequate control mechanisms.
